OVERVIEW:

  • The Pirates Hall of Fame will honor the most iconic and impactful players in the history of the professional arena football organization, previously known as the Massachusetts Pirates, and now known as the Orlando Pirates. This initiative aims to celebrate the legacy of these athletes while engaging fans in the selection process, fostering a deeper connection between the team, its history, and its supporters.

 

       NOMINATION PROCESS:

  • Each season, the Pirates Front Office will nominate four (4) candidates based on criteria such as career achievements, impact on the organization on and off the field, and contributions to the community. The exception will be the 2026 season, which, as the inaugural Hall of Fame season, will feature sixteen (16) candidates to launch the program. Nominees who are not selected to be inducted this season will have their nomination moved to the next season.
  • Fans will vote to induct three (3) candidates into the Pirates Hall of Fame. The exception will be the 2026 season, which, as the inaugural Hall of Fame season, will feature eight (8) inductees. The selection process will be a combination of the fan vote, along with the input from team management.

       NOMINEE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • There must be a one (1) season gap from the last time the nominee played for the Orlando Pirates / Massachusetts Pirates, if the nominee is a player.
  • If a player, the nominee must have played a minimum of six (6) games under contract with the Pirates
  • If the nominee is a coach or support staff, they must have completed at least one (1) season under contract with the Pirates
 

       VOTING PROCESS

  • Fans will vote for their favorite player, coach, and/or support staff via the team's official website (www.orlandopirates.com/HOF). 
  • Voting will be open for a designated amount of time, announced by the Pirates on social media and press releases.
  • Winning Inductees will be announced each December, leading into the start of the new season.
  • The Pirates will occasionally offer a "Double Vote" day, in which fans will have the ability to add a vote for their favorite Pirates players or staff to be voted in. 
  • Hall of Fame Inductees will be presented with a Navy Hall of Fame jacket during a special celebration to be scheduled in 2026.

        VOTING GUIDELINES:

  • Unless specified by the Pirates, each fan is allowed one (1) vote per voting season. Special voting events will be announced by the Pirates at their discretion.
  • Each season, a bracket/graphic will be provided for fans to know how many players and/or support staff may be voted into the Hall of Fame
